$66 a day

July 19th, 2006 at 04:01 pm

It costs me roughly $66/day to live. That is my net income, minus all true savings (any money not saved with the intention of being spent at a later date). While that's not a lot, and though I have no statistics, it is probably about average for the US, it is more than many people around the world see in a month. Sobering. Now I have to think of ways to lower that number.

That is interesting. How did you figure that out?

I took my monthly budget, subtracted my long term savings, then multiplied the number by 12, for 12months, and divided this number by 365days. Ex: $2000/month x 12months = $24000/yr divided by 365 days = $65.75/day. This includes all my fixed, irregular and variable expenses.

Wow! At $66.00 a day to live, that comes to $1,080.00 a month.

I only get $630.00 a month to live on a month.

According to the $66.00 a day stats, I can't afford to live. *lol*

Everyone's amt will vary, depending on their expenses. $66/day is actually just under $2000/month. At $630/mth, if you used all of that for expenses, none saved, it would cost you $21/day.
